Have you ever wondered how editors make decisions? Why do different editors handle text in different ways, even when they’re given the same parameters?

As part of Drexel University’s Week of Writing, Drexel Edits and the Philadelphia chapter of the Editorial Freelancers Association are teaming up to try an entertaining experiment in editorial judgment. We’ll have four local freelance editors edit the same tricky passage, then review their edits in front of a live audience. The panel will discuss why and how they made the decisions they did. Audience members will also be able to suggest their own edits. Expect some debates, lively┬ábanter, and a new perspective on the editing process!

When: Wednesday, May 13, 1-2 PM

Where: Drexel Bookstore, corner of 33rd and Chestnut Streets, Philadelphia, PA

With: Sarah Grey, Cathy Hannabach, Brian Baughan, Christine Neulieb
